We believe everyone deserves the empowerment of mobility. It is not solely the individual receiving the wheelchair that is impacted, it is their family as well. Whether it is answered prayers or meeting Jesus for the first time, our hope is that everyone we come into contact with is also impacted spiritually as they are reminded they are made in God’s image and are cared for with love.

Mission: Mobility
Through our Mission: Mobility program, we receive used wheelchairs from the United States. Our wheelchair mechanics repair the chairs in Chimaltenango. The chairs are then sent all over Guatemala in wheelchair distributions. Many of the people being fitted into a chair would otherwise be confined to bed, often suffering neglect. For those fortunate enough to have someone caring for them, being physically carried is the only means of transport. It is difficult on both the disabled and the caregiver. A wheelchair relieves some of those difficulties.
The heart of Bethel Ministries International is
Our uncompromising desire to seek people who have been disregarded because of their disabilities or illnesses and provide them with the proper care needed to overcome their hardships. In Guatemala, there are 1.6 million people with disabilities. For the majority of them, healthcare is unaffordable. Social programs do not exist. Available medical care can be frightful. More often than not, this causes afflictions that could otherwise have been treated preventively.
