Rosa Maria is 15 and in seventh grade.
Noé Alexander is 13 and in eighth grade.
Maria Rosa is their mom and has been a widow for 10 years now. Maria has been working hard to take care of her children the last several years, but began to have some health issues and a nervous breakdown about a year ago. Unfortunately, she had to take out a loan to pay for hospital expenses and tests, and has been unable to pay it back since. She still has problems with her vision as well as constant headaches, which cause her to only be able to work once a week.
Both Rosa and Noé have taken time off of school in order to work to help with the household expenses, but they are both eager to start school again. They both hope to graduate and find good jobs that will allow them to help their mom out even more.
